 * Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics: new peer-reviewed, electronic-only journal from IOP. Free of charge in 2003.(June 20, 2003)
 * Journal of Optical Networking (JON) is new electronic-only journal published by the Optical Society of America (OSA), focusing on fiber optics and optical networks. (November 19, 2002)
 * Linux Journal: electronic version now available. For User ID and Password, please contact the librarians. (October 14, 2002)
 * E-Journal Archive DTD Feasibility Study: Harvard University Library has released an E-Journal Archive DTD Feasibility Study. The report examines the feasibility of creating a DTD (Document Type Definition) that can be used to reasonably represent and archive the intellectual content of journal articles published by a range of different publishers.  * Science Express: Science Express provides rapid electronic publication of selected Science papers. For access, please contact the librarians (November 16, 2001)

 * Astronomische Nachrichten: e-version now available from terminals located in the library (Apr. 5, 2001)
 * Nature: Nature is now available without User ID and Password from the eso.org domain. (January 26, 2001)
 * OSA journals: online access is available to Optics Letters, Josa A and B and Applied Optics at http://www.opticsinfobase.org (January 4, 2001)
 * International Journal of Modern Physics D: electronic version available from vol.9, 2000 onwards (click on Physics / IJMPD). Articles are in PDF-format only.(July 13, 2000)
 * Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: as of January 2000, access to MNRAS is controlled by IP address; user ID and password are no longer required. Articles are available from Jan. 98 onwards, but links from ADS to 1998 articles currently go to the wrong place; full access is available from the ESO Libraries E-Journals page (May 15, 2000)

 * ESO Libraries homepage provides now a direct link to the catalog for quick searches (May 15, 2003)
 * eLISA proceedings: the LISA IV (Library and Information Services in Astronomy IV) conference proceedings are now available at http://www.eso.org/libraries/lisa4/ (April 14, 2003)
 * The University of Chicago Press and the American Astronomical Society announce a new online preprint service. The mission of the preprint service is to make available online all articles from the Astrophysical Journal and Supplement as soon as they are accepted for publication. Posted only after rigorous peer-review, these articles maintain the highest scientific standards, making them timely, reliable and accurate. (August 9, 2002)
 * LISA IV: The fourth conference on Library and Information Services in Astronomy (LISA IV) took place in Prague, Czech Republic, July 2-5, 2002. The proceedings will be published by the U.S. Naval Observatory and will be made available electronically on the ESO Libraries web pages. (July 15, 2002)
 * Annual reports of observatories: a new web source listing reports from observatories has been made available (Feb. 16, 2000)
