This tutorial provides information for the MOS - Wavelength Solution Health Check trending.
The MOS - Wavelength Solution trending is based on the measurement of QC1 parameters of MOS WAVECAL calibration data obtained with a dedicated Health Check OB executed daily. This OBs obtains one set of MOS WAVECAL data in the 7+1 Fibre mode, 580.0nm wavelength MOS setting useing Plate-1.

QC1 parameters

  • median resolving power of lines selected (QC1 database table uves_fib_wave, column resol_med, product keyword QC.RESOLMED)

  • sigma of residual of line positions to fit [10**-12 m] (QC1 database table uves_fib_wave, column resid_rms, product keyword QC.LINE.RESIDRMS)
    Description: Parameter useful to check precision of wavelength calibration solution We use picometer units at it comes out a very small number.
  • number of lines selected (QC1 database table uves_fib_wave, column nlin_sel, product keyword QC.NLINSEL)
