             VLT-SW-MAR2002 - RELEASE NOTES FOR TORNADO

   Changes (with respect to MAR2001):

      With OCT2001 Tornado 2 (VxWorks 5.4) will be used.
      This should be completely transparent to users.
      When using proxy ARP for booting slave CPUs there are some
      differences in the boot parameters:
         - the backplane address of the master must have the subnet
           mask ffffffff (only PPC)
         - the flag should be 0x8 instead of 0x108

      Tornado 2 does not need any license manager in contrast to Tornado 1.

      The boot software of MVME2604 might have to be updated. The correct version
      is created July 4. 2002. It is displayed on the LCU console at reboot just
      before loading the VxWorks kernel. If you don't have the right version 
      installed you need to upgrade. The correct version is supplied in the file
      $WIND_BASE/target/config/mv2604/boot.bin.
