             VLT-SW-OCT2001 - RELEASE NOTES FOR TCL/TK
             =========================================

   The Tcl/Tk included with the VLT Common Software OCT2001 release
   contains the following extensions, which are upgraded with respect
   to MAR2001 as indicated:
        - Tcl/Tk 8.3.3   (updated from 8.0.5)
        - [incr Tcl] 3.2 (updated from 3.0.1)
        - iwidgets 3.0.1
        - TclX/TkX 8.3   (updated from 8.0.4)
        - BLT 2.4u
        - msqltcl 1.99
        - img 1.2.4      (updated from 1.2.3)
        - Tktable 2.7    (updated from 2.5)
        - snack 2.1      (updated from 1.7.0)
        - expect 5.32    (updated from 5.28)
        - tkman 2.1      (updated from 2.1b2)
        - Sybtcl (HP-UX only)
   Several of these extensions have been patched to deal with known
   problems.

   The VLT MAR2001 release also provides the following Tcl/Tk based 
   utilities:
        - tclCheck 1.1.13
        - tkman 2.1 (updated from 2.1b2) with rman 3.0.9 (updated from
          3.0.7)
        - TclPro 1.5 (new)

   Changes (with respect to MAR2001):
     - several newer versions (see above)

   New Features (with respect to MAR2001):
     - the "TclPro" product contains an excellent code-debugger
       (prodebug) and code-checker (procheck). See the included
       documentation in PDF-format, under the $TCLTK_ROOT/TclPro
       directory.
     - as part of the new releases (see the individual manpages)
