Fiery sundown

This fiery sundown is pictured at ESO's Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) — a state-of-the-art telescope to study light from some of the coldest objects in the Universe. ALMA is the largest astronomical project in existence and is on the breathtaking location of the Chajnantor Plateau, at 5000 metres altitude in the Chilean Andes. This photo reflects the new dawn of astronomy as the array approaches completion and begins to address some of the deepest questions of our cosmic origins.
