Na základě pozorování provedených pomocí dalekohledů ESO/VLT, Gemini South a CFHT (Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope) byla objevena nová třída galaxií. Díky svému neobvyklému vzhledu dostaly tyto objekty přezdívku ‚zelené fazole‘ (green bean galaxy). Patří k nejvzácnějším objektům ve vesmíru a září intenzivním světlem, které emituje okolí jejich monstrózní centrální černé díry.
