Nová pozorování provedená pomocí teleskopu ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter array) poskytla astronomům dosud nejlepší pohled do nitra temného oblaku, který skrývá zárodek obří hvězdy. Zárodečný oblak o hmotnosti pětsetkrát převyšující Slunce je dosud nejhmotnější, jaký byl v naší Galaxii pozorován, a navíc se stále zvětšuje. Rodící se hvězda v jeho nitru hladově hltá hmotu proudící dovnitř. Předpokládá se, že se zde vytvoří velmi jasná stálice stokrát hmotnější než Slunce.
