Donkeys at La Silla

Donkeys on the road to La Silla, in the southern part of the Atacama desert of Chile. La Silla was ESO's first observation site. The site is set 2400 metres above sea level, providing excellent observing conditions. This photo was taken by ESO Photo Ambassador Alexandre Santerne.
