ESO:n VLT-teleskooppia käyttävät tähtitieteilijät ovat tehneet todennäköisesti ensimmäiset suorat havainnot tiheän kaasu- ja tomukiekon sisällä muodostuvasta planeetasta. Vahvistuessaan tämä löytö parantaa suuresti ymmärtämystämme planeettojen muodostumisesta ja mahdollistaa tähtitieteilijöiden testata tämänhetkisiä teorioita havaittavan kohteen suhteen.
