ALMA antennas at the operations support facility (OSF)

These huge antenna are part of The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). In this image the antennae are located at the ALMA operations support facility (OSF) which is at an altitude of 2900 metres in the Chilean Andes. They will remain here to be worked on before being moved to the Array Operations Site where, at an altitude of 5000 metres, this work would be much more difficult.
