Cerro Armazones

The 3060-metre-high Cerro Armazones, located just some 20 km east of Paranal in the Chilean Atacama Desert. This has been selected as the future site for the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT). With a primary mirror 39 metres in diameter, the E-ELT will be the world's largest eye on the sky.
