ALMA cryostat

This complex looking piece of equipment is the upper surface of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) cryostat. When these are installed in some of the 66 antennas which make up ALMA, the pyramid shaped mirrors in the centres will redirect the radio signal picked up from outer space, and direct it to the correct receiver areas.
