Professor Tim de Zeeuw, ESO Director General since September 2007 in August 2008, during a visit to the Paranal Observatory. He stands in front of the general view of the Paranal Observatory Platform with six domes (from left to right): AT2, VLT/ANTU, VLT/KUEYEN, VLT/MELIPAL, VST, VLT/YEPUN, and AT1. At sunset, the telescope enclosures open and the telescopes are ready for observations.
