VLTI Control Room

As all the other ESO systems, the VLTI is remotely operated from the control room located in a building just below the VLT platform. However, as various telescopes (currently up to 3) are operated simultaneously, together with the very complex system that recombines their light and with the instrument analyzing it, the Telescope and Instrument Operators join forces to run them as efficiently as possible. On this photo, three TIOs are seen setting the VLTI up for an interferometric observation.
