ESO Guesthouse in Santiago
The ESO Guesthouse in Calle Gustavo Adolfo in the Vitacura district is located a few kilometres from the Vitacura Office. It was acquired in 1965. It housed the ESO-Chile office until the Vitacura building was ready and now serves as a stop-over place for visiting astronomers and ESO staff travelling between Europe and the La Silla and Paranal observatories, and the ALMA construction sites.
