Starlight on the Swedish–ESO Submillimetre Telescope

Though now decommissioned, the Swedish–ESO Submillimetre Telescope (SEST) still remains at La Silla gazing sightless into the sky. At the time of its first light, it was the only large sub-millimetre telescope in the southern hemisphere. SEST was decommissioned in 2003.
