ESO's Very Large Telescope

These are two of the unit telescopes that make up ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT). Located on Cerro Paranal in Chile these telescopes have one of the best views of the night sky on earth. As can be seen by looking at the clarity of the Milky Way as it streaks overhead in this image.
