ELT M5 mirror prototype
The electromechanical M5 mirror prototype. In the centre is a dummy mirror that is moved in tip-tilt by three heavy-duty actuators mounted behind the system.
This prototype system will be tested, and evaluated before a final design is decided on for installation into the ELT.
