ESO exhibition at the Taltal Museum

ESO permanent exhibition at the Museum Augusto Capdeville in Taltal, the Paranal Observatory’s host municipality, in Chile’s Region II. The exhibition includes six backlit panels and other interactive elements which invite the visitors to discover the Universe and think about the effects of light pollution. It was inaugurated on 12 September 2007, as part of the fruitful cooperation between ESO and the Municipality of Taltal. The panel in the picture explains why the Paranal area is such an excellent site for astronomical observations.
