UVES on UT2-KUEYEN
Every day, before the observations start, each telescope undergoes a complete start up during which each of its function is checked, like a plane before take off. Here, Kueyen, the second Unit Telescope, is ready for the night. The instrument in the foreground is UVES, the high-resolution spectrograph.
