Observatory on Cerro Murphy

The observatory on Cerro Murphy, next to Cerro Armazones where ESO's Extremely Large Telescope is being built, is an astronomical observatory that was owned and operated jointly by the Ruhr University Bochum and Catholic University of the North until 2020. This may be the only observatory in the world running solely on renewable energy. Seen here are the solar panels and wind turbines.
