Season's Greetings!
27 December 2001
A Happy New Year!
VLT ANTU under the Starry Sky
In the evening of December 27, 2001, the FORS1 multi-mode instrument will begin its 1001st night on the VLT since it was handed over to the astronomers on April 1st, 1999. Thousands of images and spectra have been obtained since then, providing scientists in the ESO member countries and beyond with a unique base of front-line data for hundreds of research programmes. First at VLT ANTU (UT1), it was moved to MELIPAL (UT3) in August 2001.
