Dette nye, høyoppløste portrettet av den lyssterke stjernehopen Messier 7 er tatt ved ESOs La Silla-observatorium i Chile. Messier 7 er en av de mest iøynefallende åpne stjernehoper på himmelen og kan enkelt sees med det blotte øye nær halen av Skorpionen. Objektet er av stor interesse for forskere som studerer stjerners utvikling.
