Astronomy Online

Make friends in other places! From this `shop' you may talk over the WWW to other Participating Groups about astronomy and other subjects.

The World-Wide-Web offers new and exciting ways to communicate. You will find on this page three possibilities, the well known E-mail, the more advanced Hypernews and the WWW Whiteboard.

They are different, but they all achieve the same, namely to get a message from one Astronomy On-Line Participating Group to another.

In order to give other Groups the possibility to react to important mail-exchanges, a Mail-Archive has been set up. It may be consulted by all participants and searched for specific messages by subject category (17 in all). This should make it easy to find and respond to messages of particular interst to individual Groups.

Send E-mail to other Groups

This is the simple E-mail system, in which one Group may send a message to another by means of the Web `mailto' facility. Messages must be classified according to their content and copies will be retained in the Astronomy On-Line Archive.

Astronomy On-Line Mail Archive

In the Astronomy On-line communication archive you'll find messages of all discussion forums that have been sent either via e-mail or HyperMail.

Send HyperNews to discussion Forums

[NEW] With HyperNews we offer a tool to create forums and messages interactively.

Communication by Whiteboard [NEW] We'll be using the Ewgie - a small, simple collaboration service, very much like IRC (Internet Relay Chat) but with a whiteboard that allows for collaborative drawings.
