| Group Description | Our group consists of about 20 students, many aged 11 to 13 years. We have set up a Working Group in order to participate in the Astronomy On-Line programme and a DARA project. We do not have special knowledge about astronomy and astrophysics yet. Since our town, Bochum, is located in the Ruhr-area, we will probably be particularly interested in the light-pollution project. The Hildegardis-school is still waiting to be connected to the net (via the 'Schools on the net' programme), but for the time being, we use a private connection to the Internet. About Bochum: until 35 years' ago, Bochum was a mining town, but is no longer so. However, since 1965 Bochum is the location of the Ruhr-University. There is an Astronomical Institute and also a Planetarium with which we have good relations. |
