As announced earlier, the participants in Astronomy On-Line will have the opportunity to submit proposals for observations to be carried out with a number of professional telescopes in Europe and in Chile.
Detailed information about how to prepare such proposals have been available for some time in the Observations Shop.
A few days ago we opened for submission of observing proposals, and the first have already been received. In the meantime, they have been checked by the Astronomy On-Line Observing Programmes Committee which consists of a number of professional astronomers at ESO (in alphabetical order): Fernando Comeron, Vanessa Doublier, Gregory Dudziak, Lex Kaper, Jacco van Loon and Karen Mueller.
If you have any problems with the preparation of your own observing proposal, we recommend that you have a look at the first accepted proposals. This will surely give you a feeling for what is requested. And perhaps, as more proposals are filed, you will also get some inspiration for your own research!
Don't be shy! We are ready to receive your suggestions, and all Astronomy On-Line organisers and participating observatories will do their utmost to obtain good and interesting observations for you and your group.
We will keep you informed about the progress of the observations through the newspaper and also on the corresponding Astronomy On-line Web pages.
