Edition 08 of the Astronomy On-line Newspaper

New "Try your Skills" available

Today, we have placed three new "Try Your Skills" exercises on the Web.

They deal with the observations of the revolution of the earth around the sun, the measurement of the lunar distance and diameter by means of observations which were obtained by Astronomy On-line participants at the time of the solar eclipse on 12 October 1996, and a study of lunar craters.

All of these are well documented and should not be too difficult to try. You will also find a number of interesting WWW links on these pages, in particular information about impact craters on the Earth and on the Moon.
