| Title | Stellar ring in Taurus |
| Proposing Group(s) | P.Heine-SAL |
Abstract: 13 arcminutes south of the supernova remnant M1, there is an almost perfectly elliptical stellar ring. My goal is to check for the possibility of a common origin for the members of this stellar group.
General Comments: The proposed field of 7 x 7 arcminutes is big (e.g. the Dutch has a 3 x 3 arcminutes field). Two options: multiple exposures at different positions (perhaps only V and I?) or concentrate on part of stellar ring.
Visibility: +21d50m should be possible also from southern hemisphere, but absolute photometry might be difficult (airmass>1.6)
Special Comments: Standard stars will have to be taken in addition.
Expected time consumption (including overhead): 45 min. for six exposures.
Proposed facility: Bradford or Brorfelde
