| Proposing Group(s) | Gluckers |
Abstract: As it is not possible to get spectra of the dim stars of NGC 2192 we want to plot them in a Color-Magnitude-diagram. Therefor we 3 images with B, V, R-filters or, if possible, 5 images with U,B,V,R,I-filters. The resulting diagram is to be overlayed on on the standard main-sequence of an open cluster with known distance. This fit allows to determine the true position of the turn-off point and so the age of the open cluster NGC 2192.
General Comments: The program is feasible, but the OHP telescope may not be the most appropriate given the size of the cluster (it can be estimated at some 5' from the Digitized Sky Survey). We would rather suggest the Bradford or Brorfelde telescopes, although this would imply no U filter.
Visibility: Coordinates are all right.
Special Comments: Standard stars will have to be taken in addition.
Expected time consumption (including overhead): approx. 30 minutes.
Proposed facility: Bradford or Brorfelde
