| Title | Saturn - a new student friendly method determining the distance. |
| Proposing Group(s) | Soenderborg School Observatory |
Abstract: This method is an EAAE rediscovery of Galileo's old 1610 Venus distance method. Sky & Telescope will describe this issue in a separate article - scheduled already for Feb/Mar 1997. If succesfull, images plus a total exercise will be published Astronomy On Line.
General Comments: Simple and elegant proposal based on a clever idea.
Visibility: Saturn is well visible now.
Special Comments: A small pixel size would be good for the accuracy of the results.
Expected time consumption (including overhead): Nearly instantaneous.
Proposed facility: Dutch 90 cm telescope at La Silla.
