| Title | The nebula in Orion |
| Proposing Group(s) | Toftlund Astronomi |
Abstract: The nebula in Orion is the most famous nebula in the northsky. M42 is one of the nearest H+ area. I want to take two exposures: one with filter of the small group O and B stars, calls the trapezium, and one of the OMC1, which is very close to the trapezium, and contents about 500 sunmasses hydrogen, and including infra-red objects, it's likely to be a Protostar.
General Comments: The purpose of the proposal is not very clear; OMC-1 is a molecular cloud covering a large area of the sky, unobservable at visible wavelengths, which contains the Orion nebula. It is suggested that observations are carried out in B, V, and H-alpha.
Visibility:The area is well visible now.
Special Comments: The authors are encouraged to contact the group "The moomins",whose proposal (no. 28) may have some points in common.
Expected time consumption (including overhead): About 15 minutes.
Proposed facility:Most of the telescopes are appropriate to obtain images of the Trapezium cluster at the heart of the nebula; Dutch 90 cm?
