| Title | Virgo cluster center |
| Proposing Group(s) | Beda |
Abstract: We have got two photos, taken 1956 of the Virgo Cluster. The center of each photo is R 12h28'48" D 11d28'45"N, covering approx. from R 12h13' to 12h45' and 8d 00' to 14d25'. Now, we would like to compare these photos with photos taken with a CCD camera to see what futher information we can get. We would like to concentrate on the center of the cluster where we think quite a big part can be examined by pointing the telescope in two different directions.
General Comments: Good idea, and the science that can be done with the ccd images is "obvious": C-M of the cluster. Not much to say about feasibilty: okay but it would be better to add expo time in each filter to match the signal-to-noise ratio, especially for Virgo.
Visibility:At the end of the night.
Special Comments:
Expected time consumption (including overhead): About 45 minutes. Suggested: B: 3x5' = 15' (bright time so split obs: + dithering between expo for a better images combination); V: 2x5' (10min), same comment as for B; R: 6'; I: 6'.
Proposed facility:Crni Vrh 20 cm (a large field is necessary for this proposal).
