| Title | Starburst in Interacting Galaxies |
| Proposing Group(s) | Association Aphelie |
Abstract: Interacting galaxies are supposed to be the place of massive starburst. The problem is, young stellar objects occur in dense dusty molecular clouds, so they are only visible at infrared wavelengths. In order to caracterize these starburst, we propose to image one system of interacting galaxies, with R, V and B filters, and if possible J, I, R, V and B filters. Images taken with shorter wavelenghts filters will be substracted to red or infrared images to provide clean images of the dust and starburst contributions.
General Comments: Good proposal, the interpretation of the data can yield interesting astrophysical information.
Visibility:In the second half of the night
Special Comments:
Expected time consumption (including overhead): About 1 hour 15 minutes.
Proposed facility:As stated by the authors, the program can be carried out either at the IAC 80 telescope or at the Dutch 90 cm.
