The 36-cm Schmidt-Cassegrain and CCD

The University of Ljubljana 36-cm, f/11 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is fully computerized and equipped with the 574x385 thinned CCD, manufactured by Wright Instruments Ltd. An additional telecompressor yields the f/6.8 ratio and is very useful for observations of extended objects. A 10-cm, f/10 guiding telescope is mounted piggyback and attached with the ST-4 CCD autoguider.

The telescope will be available for the participants of Astronomy On-Line project during the hot phase.

The 36-cm telescope is most suitable for

- standard BVRI stellar photometry
- imaging of faint comets
- imaging of deep-sky objects

(*) - Standard BVRI CCD photometric filters are according to "Glass filters for coated CCDs" proposed by Bessell [Bessell, M.S. (1990), PASP, 102, 1181] which match the standard BVRI passbands.
