Organized by the European Association for Astronomy Education (EAAE) in collaboration with the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Commission.

Interested in astronomy? Attending a Secondary School in Europe? Or are you a member of an amateur astronomy club in Europe? Put together a team with your friends, and try your skills as an astronomer in a unique Europe-wide astronomy event, organized as part of the European Week for Scientific and Technological Culture 1996, sponsored by the European Commission.

Solve an astronomical problem, obtain fresh observation data from professional observatories or take part in a joint observing programme with your own telescope or that of a local astronomy club. And meet friends from all over Europe on the Internet with the same interests as you!

The activities will start on October 1, 1996 and will reach their climax towards the end of November. Participation is free¹, but to take part in the full programme, you must register with the EAAE representative in your country before October 1². During the event itself, you must have access to a computer with on-line connection to the World-Wide-Web. ¹: All on-line cost and telephone charges must be paid by the participants themselves ²: Registration up to November 1 is possible, but may prevent you from taking part in certain activities.
