Jupiter, the king of gods.In Roman mythology, Jupiter was the king of gods and the ruler of Olympus. Son of Saturn and Reia, from him depended the Roman state. Like his father, he was the youngest of his lineage. Saturn had been warned by an Oracle, which told him that he would defeated by one his sons. Then, whenever he had a child, he ate it (Neptune, Pluton, Ceres, Juno and Vest). But, when Jupiter was born his mother saved him, gave Saturn a rock into a sheet and Saturn ate it thinking it was Jupiter.
When Jupiter became adult, with Metis' (the goodness of Prudence) advice, he tried to conquer the power among the gods. With a medicine given by Metis, Jupiter drugged his father and made him throw up his brothers. With them, resurrected, they attacked Saturn and the Titans. Ten years after, Jupiter (helped by his brothers and the Cyclopes) defeated Saturn and the Titans, who left the Olympus. So, the Cyclopes gave Jupiter the lightning and the thunder, offering also Pluton the magic helm of invisibility and gave to Neptune a tritan that shake the sea and the earth. But, his biggest battle was still to come: the battle against Tifon, the biggest and most power human being. After this one, he was wounded (the monster chopped off his tendons from his arms and legs). But with the help of Mercury and Fauna, he ended up being freed, killing Tiffany with one of his lightning bolts.
But if Jupiter's battles for the power are well known, even more them those are the weddings and disloyalties. |
