COMPARISON OF A TRANSIT WITH AN ECLIPSE AND A HIDING: We think that the eclipse takes place when a heavenly body disappears because another one comes in front of it and prevents the observer from seeing it. A hiding is similar but in a minor grade because the heavenly body that comes on bottom has a smaller diameter than the one betewen its and us, (such as it happened on Friday the 21 st of May 2004 when Venus went by behind the moon). And a transit happens the other way round as the body that covers is smaller and it hardly conceals the one behind; thus we can observe its movement over the one behind. This is the case of Venus in front of the Sun or the satellites in front of Jupiter, which we can directly observe from the Earth.
| And, as examples, since an image is worthy one thousand words, we have: ( then a video is worthy a million). All images are own and all of them have been procesed with RegiStax in the school, except for the one of the plane.....not in ours images,....... lot of swallows can be seen in our video........the batteries?... |
