Latest Comment (June 8, 06:240 UT) : We have now put on the first video from the entry of Venus onto the solar dics - it was obtained by the AGAPE observers at ESO HQ in Garching (Germany).,/b> Look also at the AU display above! We are getting the first calculations of the distance from the Earth to the Sun, based on timing data from VT-2004 observers deposited at the central VT-2004 computer - and they are not all that off, only about 2%! There are now reports that observers in different places have seen the dark spot of Venus through special sun viewing glasses, without any telescopic aid. The VT-2004 website experienced about 1500 hits per second (90,000 per minute) - 280 Mbits/sec at the time of the 1st and 2nd contacts - it is now slightly lower. Other Webcast Sites
