Deformable secondary mirror
This is the deformable secondary mirror (DSM) one of the key systems of the Very Large Telescope (VLT) Adaptive Optics Facility (AOF). In this image it is mounted on a test bench in the ESO Garching integration laboratory at the start of its test phase.
