The Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer

This is the insertion of a integral field unit (IFU) into the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) main structure.

One complete IFU is visible before its insertion into the main structure. A dedicated tool (in yellow) has been built to ease the insertion while minimising the risk of damaging the delicate image slicer, located in the front of the IFU, or the cables of the cooling system.
