Mounted image 015: Cerro Paranal moonlit
A wide-angle view of Paranal, home to the Very Large Telescope array of
four 8.2-metre Unit Telescopes and four 1.8-metre movable Auxiliary Telescopes. This image was taken on a moonlit night at 10 p.m. from the nearby peak, La Montura. The naked eye would
have barely noticed the colour of the afterglow of the Sun below the western horizon.
