ESOshop: Mounted image 22: VLT Unit Telescope 1, Antu, venting before start-up
A wide-angle view inside the telescope enclosure. The telescope is Antu, Unit Telescope 1, with the ISAAC instrument at the Nasmyth A focus. Each night around sunset, technicians open the enclosure and prepare the telescope and its instruments for the night’s observation run.
