Young astronomers observe with ESO Telescopes
Spectrum of Ca II 8542 A line in Beta Pictoris using data from the NTT telescope. An example of one of the observations performed by the "Young Astronomers" during their visit to ESO on November 14 - 20, 1995. Those who attended were the winners of the Europe-wide contest "Europe Towards the Stars", organised by ESO with the support of the European Union, under the auspices of the Third European Week for Scientific and Technological Culture.
