This sequence gives a close-up view of the Meathook Galaxy (NGC 2442), a peculiar spiral in the constellation of Volans (The Flying Fish). This is a new image was taken by the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at La Silla, Chile.
