Zooming in on the Running Chicken Nebula

This zoom sequence starts with a spectacular wide view of the Milky Way. It then closes in on the huge constellation of Centaurus (The Centaur), close to the more familiar Southern Cross (Crux). The final sequence shows the Running Chicken Nebula (IC 2944) in a new image taken by the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at La Silla, Chile.
