The application and configuration files that are part of this package are used to build an instance of the ATCS software starting from the source code stored in the VLT Software Archive and to configure it for a specific Auxiliary Telescope.

The software takes care of:

• Extracting from the archive all the software modules of the requested version
• Building the software
• Building all environments for workstation and LCUs
• Providing boot files for LCUs
• Providing any other required configuration file
• Taking care of differences between the real telescopes, the control model or other test and simulation installations

This package is an essential Software Configuration Management tool.

The different versions of the VLT Software Module that implement this package allow to restore and rebuild any desired version of the complete ATCS system.

Reuse from VLT TCS:  80%

The pkgin package provides the same functionality and the code is highly reusable. New packages have to be integrated in the build skeleton and all database values have to be configured with the values specific for the AT system.
