Data Specifications

The flow of information within the ATCS is basically divided in two different classes of data, whose definition is given in [AD04], § 2.2.1. Table 2 in this chapter reminds their description and their main requisites.

  • Commands and replies

  • error reply or timeout expiration when command in failure
  • periodic replies when long lasting command under execution and explicit last reply when completed
  • Synchronization Signals

    • Time reference signals
  • Availability to all LCUs and WSs
  • Implemented using the Time Reference System [14] (10 m s accuracy in the LCUs)

    All data structures produced or used by the ATCS shall comply with the specification provided in the ESO Data Interface Control Document [AD16].
