Saving Energy

Saving Energy is a vital task for all of us. In the office there are numerous possibilities for saving energy. Have a look at this collection!

Please be aware that saving energy also saves money and helps the environment, in many cases it also improves the safety situation. An example is the reduction of the fire hazard by unplugging electric appliances at times an office is not occupied.

If you see a way of saving energy in ESO (Garching), please contact General Services Garching. The setting up of a working group at ESO (Garching) is under consideration which will investigate means for saving energy here.

Recycling

A lot of waste is already being recycled. The latest addition is the collection of CDs and DVDs. A large spindle has been placed in the cafeteria at ESO HQ where these discs are being collected for proper recycling.
