Beta-Light Handling

Storage

• The beta-lights must always be stored in the safe, which must be locked at all times.

• The only exception to this rule is when the beta-light(s) is (are) actually used in one of the instrument for tests. The beta-light must be installed in the instrument just before the tests, and returned to the safe as soon as the tests are completed.

Handling

• Only the authorized persons (trained operation and operators) are allowed to manipulate the beta-lights.
• Direct contact with the skin must be avoided at all time. The use of gloves is required for direct handling the bare beta-light (e.g. to install them in their mounting).
• In no case, a beta-light, bare or mounted in its holder, should be left unattended, even for short time.
• In no case, a beta-light, bare or mounted in its holder, should be carried in a pocket (pants, shirt, etc.)
