Title:Exploring the spiral structure of the Galaxy using the VVV survey

Abstract:
The Vista Variables in the Vía Láctea (VVV) ESO Public Survey, is scanning the Milky Way bulge and 
an adjacent section of the mid-plane, using 5 different filters in the near-IR. In my presentation I will show 
how we propose to use such data to explore the shape and extension of the spiral structure of our Galaxy in 
this line of sight.
